We ripped up the script on ‘what sales agencies look like’ for our recent collaboration with new challenger agency Izzy. Instead we channeled the exuberant and idiosyncratic qualities of the eponymous founder to create a properly distinctive, category-busting identity.

Sales agencies don’t usually do bold or loud. Their default positioning is that of discreet, supportive go-between, dressed-up in reassuring commercial-speak; all well and good but hardly memorable.

Izzy Keene wanted to be different. She wanted something that chimed with the disruptive challenger brands and progressive retailers she serves. She wanted edge and standout. And she wanted something that truly represented her: dynamic but super-personable and accessible (Boardsport Source Magazine recently described her as ‘one of our industry’s friendliest faces with a work-ethic like no other’).

At the heart of the identity is a kit of surfboard-inspired shapes. They form an endlessly adaptable system of patterns, backgrounds and frames. They also unite to form the bespoke logotype – a visual manifestation of Izzy’s new positioning: ‘Bringing innovative brands and retailers together’.

The tone and aesthetic is relaxed, fluid, easy and conversational, reflecting Izzy’s desire to be seen as a conduit and a ‘brand storyteller’. A neutral colour pallet avoids any awkward clashes when sat alongside the multiple brands she represents.
